Five more Certified Club Managers for Europe
Five members of the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) have passed the exam to become Certified Club Managers in November.
Alberto Iglesias of Font Del Llop in Spain, Ascanio Pacelli of Terre de Consoli in Italy, Robert Brewer of Royal Wimbledon Golf Club in England, Graham Stewart of Golf de LaLargue Sarl in France and Gabriel Sota Sanz of Golf Ramón Sota in Spain all passed the CCM exam bringing the number of Certified Club Managers in Europe to a total of 44.
All five candidates became eligible to sit the CCM exam by completing 4 out of 5 of the Management Development Programme courses, attending the CMAA World Conference in the USA and gaining a total of 300 CMAE credits before sitting the CCM exam, which is a 7 hour exam in total consisting of two parts. The first is a multiple choice examination of 200 questions covering the 10 core competencies and the second involves extended responses to questions posed around a case study.
Graham Stewart, Gabriel Sota and Ascanio Pacelli who are all members of the PGA, brings the total number of PGA Pros who have gained CCM to 10 in Europe.
In addition, Gabriel Sota and Alberto Iglesias brings the number of CCM’s in Spain to 5, with Ascanio Pacelli becoming the second Italian CCM.
Commenting on their success, Robert Brewer said “The CCM pathway has been a very enjoyable and rewarding educational process since I started it in October 2014. The classes were all relevant and thought provoking and the opportunity to develop a new network of like minded Club Managers was invaluable. Preparing for the final exams gave me the opportunity to review all my notes, action plans and many folders and books I had collected in the 3 year journey. I spent a lot of hours revising for the exams, which I can now say has been worthwhile, and I can now look forward to continuing my education through CPD courses and keeping in contact with my extended network of colleagues around the World. I closing I would just like to extend my gratitude to the various Captains, Trustees and Committee members of Royal Wimbledon Golf Club who have encouraged me along the way.”
Graham Stewart commented “As a PGA professional I realised I needed a formal certification for my 25 years of management experience. I therefore enrolled for the CMAE MDP pathway.
I am proud to join an elite group of only 44 managers including only 10 PGA pros who have achieved Certified Club Manager CCM status. I can highly recommend any PGA professional who already is or thinking about becoming a club manager to attend the courses and become a fully qualified manager. The knowledge gained during the 5 Management Development programs has been invaluable in my daily work.”
Ascanio Pacelli said: “I’m very proud to have become a CCM, even though I know that my development is not finished, and this is just the beginning. I can’t stop writing before giving my love to all the presenters and delegates who helped me in this part of my life. Becoming a CCM is not only a personal achievement, but also the possibility to make the CMAE stronger and consequently better worldwide known.”
Gabriel Sota added: “I cannot believe it and for me this CCM is the perfect Christmas present. A good CCM report is being wrotten since Sotagolf “Seve Home of Golf”. Everybody will know the CCM and CMAE value. What a great experience tribe!. AIDA. Attention, Interest, desire and action. I want to do it, I wish do it and I have to do it because Club Manager Association of Europe is giving us all, knowledge and networking is everything, Thanks folks!”
